It began with a chat from a policeman - a real one Victoria said. He was very good with the children explaining what's the best and safe way to cross roads. And then started to discuss what he had on his belt - pepper spray, bullets, a baton (he showed them how to make it big) and of course the handcuffs. The handcuffs were the hit - maybe if they'd been abit older the other stuff would have been deemed cool but for the most part it went over their heads. Which was probably a good thing!!
Then it was out to put it all into practice. There were 2 groups - the walkers who had to cross the road correctly using all the things they had in place and the riders. The traffic lights and the red/green man actually worked - added to the authenticity of it all.
Using the underground walking subway
Waiting for the bus - there is no bus inside the area but loved how they all lined up and waiting patiently
Crossing the road while a little boy had to wait for the coast to become clear
It's a green man
Now they're the drivers....
Listening to the final instructions. This is Victoria's Barn Owl class.
Love this shot - drivers, people crossing the road and of course the tall buildings!
Checking it's safe to turn....
