Phuket

We've been on holiday !! You do have to escape the urban jungle I tell you so we exchanged heat, sun and a concrete jungle for heat, sun and space !! We went back to Phuket as we had such a great time there the first time - it just wasn't long enough that time - plus we had friends also there on holiday. It was a great week of spending time with friends, eating, drinking, swimming, more swimming, more eating....you get the drift !!!

It's just such an easy going place and the people are so geniunely friendly. We stayed at Kata Beach which is near the bottom of the island - far away from the main drag of Patong as possible. It's quieter and has more of a villagey feel. It's a 5 min walk to the beach but a 15 min walk back up - there's a hill !! Not as bad as our hill in HK but it can still do you in... We only went to the beach once and that was for a moonlight stroll back to the villa after dinner...we had the girls !!!

It was Victoria's first time where she had her own seat on the plane. Talk about feeling special. She was such a trooper as we had a night flight to Bangkok so once the plane took off she delighted in the movies and then feel asleep. She did that coming back to HK too.... She has this pink bag (it used to be Hannah's one) that she takes everywhere and I mean EVERYWHERE. It's a drama to get it off her. However, when we had to put our bags through the x-ray machines the bag was already off and ready to go through. Seasoned traveller !!! Of course if the bag didn't come straight out the other end - well, she wasn't a happy camper.

Hannah had a ball whenever we went in the pool. She really is confident there but she knows the rules - she must have her arm bands on AND an adult (usually her mother) must be there. It really is a delight to watch her gain this confidence and enjoy being in the water. Plus loves getting her hair and face wet. Some of the other kids in her swimming class just don't like being there at all !!!

On Bon Island....it was an adventure to get there that's for sure. We were all rather wet before we even arrived....

Our friends were staying at Rawai Beach just over the hill from us. There's quite a few places on this hill and that are quite close to the road where you can go trekking on elephants. We didn't go this time as thought if Victoria won't go NEAR the disney characters there's no chance she'd go near an elephant. - we'll save it for next time. Hannah's comment when she saw an elephant with much excitement in her voice "OOOO mummy look there's an elephant. It's a REAL one"....

Everythings unpacked and washed - we're just now planning our next trip - and this one I think might just be an adventure....
